Another place to find wonderful food is Serangoon Gardens. There are a lot of hidden gems waiting for us to discover in this area. Arbite Cafe is located at the heart of Serangoon Gardens, right beside Sushi Tei and is pretty near to the bus stop too.
Outside looks like this
This is Live Bouchot Mussels. Mussels were fresh and mixed well with the butter-milk sauce. It taste even better when eaten with their butter bread. Interesting mix of mussels and bread.
This is Sea Salt Caramel Banana Pancakes. Wonderful!! I don't like my pancakes too sweet like how most pancakes are awfully spammed with syrup that make the pancake too sweet for my liking. THIS, is both sweet and salty at the same time and blended really well in my mouth. Pancakes were fluffy and soft. Bananas were hot and tasty. It tastes really good when the bananas are eaten with the pancakes, like another match made in heaven!
This is the Squid Ink Spaghttini with Seafood.
Ingredients were fresh and the spaghetti was chewy (in a good way). You can order it with Tomato sauce or olive oil. I went with the olive oil and it tasted rather light which was just right for me since the other ingredients were already very fresh, you wouldn't want the sauce to overpower the entire dish.
I am pleased with Arbite Cafe for its food and the service's simply fantastic. Needless to say, I will definitely patronize this cafe to try their big breakfast (since I love big breakfast sets). The furnishing there is pretty simple and laid back. They may not have the sleekest furniture, but it is a place where you can just sit, relax and take five amidst the buzzing city outside.
